For it's a grand old team to play for

-Vale Stefan Kamasz-
The Weston Bears FC is deeply saddened by the passing of club legend and Australian football icon, Stefan Kamasz.

Stefan joined the Bears, with his brothers Stuart and David, in 1969 at the age of 19 after migrating from England. His time with Weston was marked by remarkable success, including three consecutive major and minor premierships in 1971, 1972, and 1973.
A talented player with a graceful left foot, Stefan’s contributions on the field remain etched in the history of our club.

After retiring from playing, Stefan transitioned into football administration, becoming one of the most influential figures in Australian football.
From leading Northern NSW Soccer Federation to managing the Socceroos and playing a pivotal role in the evolution of the National Soccer League and A-League, his dedication to the game was unmatched.
Stefan’s contribution to football was recognised in 2014 when he was inducted into the Football Australia Hall of Fame.

Even in recent years, Stefan remained connected to the Bears, occasionally attending games and supporting from the sidelines.

His legacy is one of excellence, passion, and tireless advocacy for the growth of football at all levels.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Stefan’s family, friends, and the wider football community.
He will always be remembered at the Bears.

Bears star Connor Evans approached the club a few weeks ago with a request we thought was just brilliant.
Playing in number #7 is special and knowing Angus Lathan also played in #7 Connor wanted to ensure Gus continued to be a part of gamedays with the club.
With that request ‘GUS’ is now part of the #7 shirt and always joining the field with the boys.

- Buswell to join 100 Club -
Cooper Buswell will join a special group of players this Sunday when he plays his 100th First Grade game for Weston FC.

Cooper made an instant impact on his debut in 2017 scoring a brace. He has gone on to become a terrific club person, is blessed with wonderful technical ability and is a firm favourite with everyone at the Club.

Congratulations Cooper - we are looking forward to seeing you reach this milestone and take your place in the history of this grand old club.

- Buswell to join 100 Club -
Cooper Buswell will join a special group of players this Sunday when he plays his 100th First Grade game for Weston FC.

Congratulations to U13s Goalkeeper Noah Hudson who has been selected in the U13, Ibercup, Australian select squad who will travel to Portugal in December.
This is Noah’s first year at the Bears and we are all very proud of his achievement.
Well done Noah. Keep enjoying your football and we look forward to your progress.
