The Weston Workers Bears Football Club is saddened to hear of the passing of club Life Member, John 'Junior' Beatty.
Born in Weston 1927, 'Junior' joined the Bears committee in the mid 1960s and was part of the Weston revolution which ignited Northern football. He served as Treasurer to 1973 when he then took on the Presidency until 1980 overseeing tremendous success.
Junior also served on the board of the Northern NSW Football Federation and such was his devotion to the community, he is also a Life Member of the Weston Workers Club and Labor Party.
Junior's legacy continues at the Bears with family still involved and the club extends it's sincerest condolences to Gayle, Maurie and Brandon as well as Junior's immediate and extended family at this difficult time.
