Welcome to Issue 6 of The Bear Facts.

As we head into the last few rounds of the season I would like to extend sincere thanks to everyone for their amazing support of the club. From our baby Bears through to 1st grade your support makes all the difference and is what makes this club so special.

Our Youth teams really have made great strides this season. The results have been very impressive but it is the performances that have made us all very proud. With Kew Jaliens and our terrific coaches the young Bears really are in good hands.
Our senior sides have had mixed success. The U19s and U22s are still in the mix for finals football and have it all to play for - go get it lads.
1st grade have toughed out a difficult season and deserve all of our support during the run in. One of the positives this year has been the introduction of a number of young players to 1st grade and it's a great peek in to our future.

Speaking of the future....
Congratulations to Robbie and Amba Turnbull on the birth of their daughter Anderson Elizabeth.
Not to be outdone are Jason and Sharnie Cowburn who also welcomed a daughter, Lara, to the world.

Don't forget you have the opportunity to win a trip to Las Vegas in the Bears major raffle.
This is an amazing opportunity to assist the Club and have one the best experiences of your life.

In this new age of the NPL we are very fortunate to have many new and long term sponsors. We cannot do it without them and for their support we are extremely grateful.
Please visit our sponsors page and support those who support our Club.

While we are talking sponsors, thanks to Bill & Di Metcalfe at the Station Hotel for all their assistance hosting our team dinners.
As usual the Station Hotel went above and beyond to make sure everyone at the Club was looked after and had a fabulous time. Cheers Bill.

I hope you find this edition's news and articles of interest and remember....

C’Mon you Bears!!

The Dutch touch

Fantastic to see Bears Technical Director, Kew Jaliens, put the U12 Hunter Hawks through their paces at Rockwell Automation Park.

Kew has recently returned from Europe with his UEFA 'B' Licence and these young players will have taken so much away form this session.

Thank you and well done to all involved.

MS JF

Congratulations to Meryl Swanson and Joel Fitzgibbon on their election and re-election in the electorates of Paterson & Hunter.

Earlier in their campaigns our Club was very appreciative that both found valuable time out of their busy schedules to visit Weston Football Club and announce Weston's successful round 1 grant application in the 'Stronger Communities Program'.

We thank Joel and Meryl for their help to date and look forward to working with them in the future.

Zac Sneddon update

After a sickening head clash early in the first half against Broadmeadow Zac Sneddon is now recovering well.

Zac was heavily concussed, vomiting and bleeding and has since had confirmation of a head fracture.

We all send our very best wishes - take it easy mate.

Ton up for Macca

One of the Bears favourite sons and genuine top bloke, Rob Macbeth, played his 100th first grade game against Lambton Jaffas in a midweek catch up game recently.

Mate, congratulations from everyone at Weston. You are fully deserving of this and your name now sits with the other great players to have achieved this milestone for the Bears.
