Through a disrupted season, lockdowns, protocols as well as planning for a new season the Bears
are proud to announce our award winners for 2021.

Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved this year. It has been trying but through it all we have been amazed at the determined spirit at the club. Players, parents, volunteers, coaches and committee from JDL to 1st grade stood up and confronted the challenges the pandemic brought and pressed on. Because of this work we are now poised and ready for 2022.

The 1st grade awards for the 2021 Player of the Year and Players Player were awarded to Mussa Kamara and Aaron Niyonkuru respectively. Their performances and that of their teammates got people out of their seats and provided so much entertainment. We are all looking forward to 2022 and seeing them back in the black and white stripes for an un-interrupted season.

Special shout out to Di Forster on being awarded Honorary Membership. This is just reward for her tireless work, beautiful nature and service to this grand old club. Thank you Di.

Grant Clouten is our Club Person of The Year. His work with the Bears youth program over the past 2 seasons, as well as multiple other committee duties, has been outstanding and benefits the club greatly. Thanks mate.

Cooper Sargent is the winner of the Angus Lathan Medal. This award recognises a player’s football ability plus how they look after their own wellbeing and that of their clubmates.
Throughout this season Cooper displayed these traits which are crucial on and off the pitch.

This year two Club Service awards will also be presented to acknowledge ongoing valuable contributions.
Berin Hawley has worked and continues to work tirelessly with our JDL program with tremendous results as well as working on multiple tasks with the club committee.
Candice Hunter’s photography captured thousands of fantastic images throughout the season which she shared with everyone. This along with fulfilling the MPO role at the club.

To all the 2021 winners and award recipients the club extends its congratulations.
We wish you all the very best for the quickly approaching new season.

*This year the awards for the highest scorer and golden glove were not awarded due to the season cancelation. They will be reinstated next year.
