Olympic continued to shade the possession creating a number of half chances.

Jamie Subat was again full of running and was found just outside the 18-yard box. His header back into the box caused the Olympic defence to scramble with the ball finding Tyson Fletcher wide on the right. Tyson then fired in a cross-come-shot that was fumbled by the Olympic keeper, and former Bear, Ben Kelly who recovered quickly to swipe the ball off the line.

The frustration of a hard fought first half surfaced when Mick Holt was fouled and was then on the receiving end of a player lashing out at him with a kick.
However, it was Olympic who rounded out the first half with the better opportunities.

The second half started as the first finished and within 2 minutes Hamilton were awarded a penalty kick. Bears custodian Tim Pratt, while picking the right way, saw the ball strike the post and deflect away from goal.

The Bears answered in the best possible fashion when 2 minutes later a great through ball from Jamie Subat found the advancing Rhys Tippett who made no mistake bulging the net for the Bears first.

rt_olyWeston was now starting to impose themselves and in the 51st minute the hard working Rob Macbeth livened things up with a snap shot at goal.

A blow to Weston saw Nathan Morris replaced due to a knock to his hip. This saw Luke Johnson enter the fray and apply himself very well.

On 57 minutes the ever-ready Robbie Turnbull chased down a through ball on the left side – looked up and delivered a pin point ball to Tyson Fletcher who bulleted an unstoppable shot from the corner of the 18 yard box to put the Bears 2 up.

With Weston controlling the pace, they had Olympic scrambling again in the 60th and on the 65th minute, Mick Holt, who was putting in a big shift, almost lobbed the keeper from half way after spying him off his line.

Olympic did lift and at the 79th mark, after a period of sustained pressure, Tim Pratt produced a super save to deny the home side.

Joel Page entered the game at the 86th min after a crude challenge on Tyson Fletcher not only went unpunished but also saw him leave the field. Jamie Subat then almost rewarded himself with a goal in the final few minutes only to be denied.

However, it was Matt Toohey, in the final seconds, who pounced on a loose ball and calmly slotted it into the bottom left hand corner to round out a well-earned 3-0 away win.

It was a committed, strong, performance across the park, for the whole 90 minutes from the Bears.  The defence in particular, contained a very capable Olympic forward line and worked together very well.

The U23s suffered their first loss of the season going down 2-1. Max Wallington netting for the Bears.  Weston’s U18s bright start to the year continued with a 2-2 draw – Daniel Toohey grabbing a brace. As with the U23s it was pleasing to see the amount of chances each team is creating, with capitalizing on them the only hic-up.
