Bears keeper Tim Pratt was called into action and produced a fine save to keep the Bears level after only the 2nd min of the match.

Mick Holt has come close with some long range rocket shots in recent weeks and he was at it again in the 22nd min but once again Holts shot was just off target.

tpEdgeworth were awarded a free kick in a dangerous position in the 34th min and unfortunately for the Bears, the quality of the set piece was to good for the defence and they put a strong header past Pratt to put the Bears down 0-1.

The Edgeworth goal didn't put the Bears behind for long as Rhys Tippett showed plenty of determination to muscle his way in on a goal mouth scramble and force the ball over the line only 5mins later to level up the scoreboard 1-1.

The lead should have then gone to Bears in the 42nd min but they never found the net and the score remained 1-1 at the break.

The 2nd half was like the first with a fast pace game with plenty of good football being played.

Jamie Subat had the first real chance of the 2nd half in the 74th min when his good run was equalled by a wonderful ball from Rob McBeth. Subat gathered the ball and hammered a strong shot at the Edgeworth keeper who pulled off a great save to deny the Bears the lead.

The Edgeworth keeper was playing a good game but Bears keeper Pratt wasn't about to be outdone and made two wonderful saves in the 80th and 82nd min to keep the Bears in the match.

Robbie Turnbull has stepped up so far this season and played some of his best football since joining the Bears as a teenager but the side will have to take on Phoenix next week without him after he was handed a 2nd yellow card and shown his marching orders in the 88th min.

Both sides failed to trouble the keepers in the remaining time and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

The U/23's match was a 3rd v 4th and also ended in a 1-1 draw with Luke Campbell finding the net for the Bears.

U/18's have started the season well and found themselves in 3rd spot so it was a surprise to see the bottom placed Edgeworth side hand them a 0-4 defeat.

Next week the Bears are away to Valentine Phoenix.
