Bears keeper Tim Pratt did well to pick out Robbie Turnbull from a goal kick on the half way line. Turnbull then beat a player and played a great ball through to Jamie Subat. Subat gained the ball and made no mistake putting the ball past the keeper and into the net for a 1-0 lead after only 7 minutes.

The ball that Turnbull put through for Subat was impressive but Mick Holt's 12th min ball was even better. Jamie Subat was again the player who was on the receiving end of the great ball and he rounded the keeper then put the ball past the diving defender for his 2nd and gave the Bears a fantastic 2-0 lead.

Mick Ryan scored 4 in the previous match against Toronto and he almost found the mark again via a good effort with his header just going wide at the back post in the 15th min. The Bears continued to create chances with Tyson Fletcher (19th min) and Mick Holt (29th min) both coming close from long range efforts.

Mick Holt showed plenty of determination to strong arm his way onto the scorers sheet when he found the net in a tight goalmouth scramble in the 31st min and give the Bears a 3-0 lead.

Toronto Awaba cut Holts celebrations short when they hit straight back and scored 1 minute later through former Bear Jason Cowburn to make the score 3-1.

The Bears shut Toronto Awaba out of the game in the 43rd min with some great lead up play by Matt Toohey, who's cross from the left flank found Mick Ryan on the back post. Ryan headed back toward goal to a poaching Robbie Turnbull who made sure of the goal but it wasn't needed as the referee said the ball was already over the line and awarded the goal to Mick Ryan. This sent the Bears to the break at 4-1 up.

Jamie Subat was playing another great game and in the 59th min he made sure of his hat-trick with a well taken goal after he won the ball wide on the left and cut back in towards goal and once again placed his shot past the keeper for a 5-1 lead.

Tim Pratt must have been freezing with very little work to do in the cold weather and at times pouring rain but he was spot on when he was required with a great save in the 65th min.

The Toronto keeper was again left stranded in the 78th min after a great ball from the left found an unmarked Matt Toohey on the back post, but the wet conditions hampered his attempted header and the chance went begging.

Nathan Morris has scored some great goals in his 100 plus top grade games for the Bears but not many would be better than the one he scored in the 81st min. Morris gained the ball 25mts plus out from the Toronto goal and fired the missile through the crowded box into the Toronto goal for a huge 6-1 lead.

Promising teenager Ethan Carusi earned his Bears top grade debut mid way through the 2nd half and in the 86th min he was on the end of some great work by Rhys Tippett and celebrated his debut with a goal to give the Bears goal number 7.

Carusi's goal was the last of the game and the score ended in a dominating 7-1 victory to the Bears.

U/23's showed plenty of character to come back from a 0-2 first half score line to run over the top of the Toronto side 4-2. Ethan Carusi scored 2 well taken goals while Max Wallington and a deserved Graham Kaiser also found the net.

U/18's shared the points with a 1-1 draw. Tim Gleeson the scorer.

Next Sunday the Bears are away at Broadmeadow Magic's Wanderers Oval.
