To the students at Weston Primary School.
It has been brought to our attention that, as part of the Newcastle Herald - Schools Newspaper Competition - a super article, written by two budding journalists at your school has been published about our Club. Click here to view the article...
Well, we think it's awesome and are sharing it with lots of our friends. You expressed perfectly your views about our Club and where we sit within your community. You also identified challenges of a small community and the benefits - such as when the Newcastle Jets come to town.
We are so happy that you took the time to write about Weston FC.
We congratulate you on having your stories published online and thank you for your insightful writing.
Kind regards
Weston Workers Bears Football Club.
And remember....
'PLAY THE GAME'
It's not unusual to see lots of Liverpool shirts around the grounds at Weston. So it's good to see the trend reversed and Bears shirts on the terraces at Anfield!
It's another great pic of the 'Bears shirt on tour' with Dave Wallace, who took in the recent Liverpool V Real Madrid Champions League game, wearing the black & white vertical stripes..... with Ronaldo warming up in the background!!!!!!!
A great friend of Weston, Dave Wallace, is currently in the UK. His son James has been representing Australia at Futsal and playing in England & Scotland.
While there for the footy, Dave, who is originally from Newcastle (UK) also took his Bears shirt on tour and has taken it to some of footballs finest theatres.
All the best to James in your remaining games and thanks for the super photos Dave - keep em coming!
C'mon you Bears!!!
