SENIORS
The senior grades made the well known trip to Adamstown Oval to face old foes Rosebud.
The U18s set the day off to a flyer with a fine 3-2 win. Goals to Ben Priest, Ben Scheib and Will Forbes.
It was great to see the 20s also get back in the winners circle with a 2-0 victory via goals to Will Myers and Lachlan Ragg.
First grade couldn't have started the game any better when after only a few minutes and on his debut for the Weston Cooper Buswell pounced and slotted home for a 1-0 lead.
What followed in the next 15 minutes saw Weston go from one up to 3-1 down and what was looking like a long afternoon.
As has been the case Weston are creating plenty of opportunities and there was no shortage in this game either with the finishing just letting them down.
As the half wore on it was terrible to see former Weston player, double centurion and Honorary Member, Robbie Turnbull, sustain what looked to be a serious knee injury.
From all of us at Weston and the greater football community we wish you a full and speedy recovery mate.
The second half began well for Weston as they began to put together a number of promising attacksand it was James Thompson who found the breakthrough finishing expertly to reduce the deficit to 3-2.
Weston continued to probe and it was an intercept and mazy run toward goal by new lad Cooper Buswell that had people off their seats as he bulged the net and claimed his brace to tie it up at 3-3.
Adamstown did begin to press harder and had a number of chances. By now the game had really opened up and although both sides could have claimed the 3 point fatigue had its effect on finishing and 3-3 it stayed.

SENIORS
The seniors welcomed the Jaffas to Rockwell Automation Park and knew it was going to be tough afternoon.
The U18s got things underway and came away with a fine 3-0 victory.
The U20s hit a bit of a speed hump and went down 0-3.
First grade have started the year well and have certainly opened the eyes of each team they have played.
Lambton are a side with a number of experienced players so the young Bears would need to be on their game.
Soaking up early pressure Weston 1st foray into the Lambton penalty area produced a penalty won by James Thompson and was converted by Nick Thompson.
Lambton continued with with greater possession and the Bears struggled to find openings.
As the game wore on both sides were beginning to create chances but wayward finishing meant the scorers were not troubled until the 32nd minute when Joel Griffiths headed home from close range.
Weston came close from a James Thompson free kick with Brock Oakley going close.
The second half started as the first with both sides creating ample opportunities without any finishing touch.
Weston cleared a soft effort off the line from a corner in the 60th minute. From the resulting next phase of play Weston broke and it was Nick Thompson who gathered on the left, cut in and fired a cross that was deflected into the Lambton net. 2-1 Bears.
With the game opening up both sides looked to take advantage and it was a super, lobbing shot from Pat Brown to even it up.
In the last action of the game Bears Keeper Kane Runge saved well in a 1 on 1 with Jobe Wheelhouse and that saw the game out in a hard fought 2-2 draw.
