On a great day for football Weston welcomed Edgeworth to Thomas & Coffey Park.
In a cagey opening it was the Eagles who looked to settle first although not really troubling the Bears defense.
Weston worked their way into the game and began to force the issue and this saw Jamie Subat cautioned for what was a genuine 50/50 ball with the keeper.
The Bears continued to push and this was rewarded in the 23rd minute when Mick Ryan swooped to stab home a loose ball in the Edgy box.
Robbie Turnbull was soon forced from the park with an injury and introduced the returning Jason Cowburn to the game. It looked to be a short appearance as the Edgeworth keeper made a very heavy challenge on him. As well as the appeals for a penalty being waved away Jason had to leave the ground for a while and thankfully was able to return.
The second half saw both teams look to break each other down. Joel Hardwick forced a very good save after he controlled with his thigh on the edge of the box and volleyed towards goal. Joel and Jason Cowburn both had further opportunities go just wide of the mark as Weston looked to close out the game. However, it was Edgy who were looking more likely as the game began to open up and they made the most of an opportunity to level the scores. Shortly after the Eagles then took the lead via a headed goal and must of thought they had done enough. Credit must go to the Bears who lifted to create a number of other opportunities and when Weston were awarded a free kick about 25yards out and with time almost up this was going to be the last look at goal. With Nathan Morris over the ball he delivered a 'special' to level the scores and ensure the points were shared.
U23s returned to the winners circle with a fine 4-2 victory.
The U19s continued their journey with a 3-1 win.
The U17s claimed all three points winning 2-1.
The U14s and U16s saw action today against the Skillaroos and Swansea.
The U16s shared the points in a 0-0 draw.
Weston's U14s were up against the Skillaroos for the 2nd time in 3 days. After drawing on Wednesday night the Bears went one further today recording a
2-1 win with goals to Alex Woods & Brock Lewsam.
C'MON YOU BEARS!!!
The U15s took on Valentine in a rescheduled game and landed a great 2-0, away, victory. Scorers for the Bears were Jayden Catt & Caine Robinson.
Playing at Thomas & Coffey Park against the Skillaroos, our U14s took a share of the points in a fine 2-2 draw.

C'MON YOU BEARS!!!
