Fantastic to have Member for Hunter, Joel Fitzgibbon & Federal Labor Candidate for Paterson, Meryl Swanson, visit our ground and deliver the great news of Weston's successful round 1 grant application in the 'Stronger Communities Program'.

Weston President, Rod Henderson, was also on hand to show and discuss recently completed, current and future works.

The Club thanks the Member for Hunter and Candidate for Paterson for taking time out of their busy schedules and their support of the Weston Workers Bears FC.

NPL3

Weston welcomed Broadmeadow to Rockwell Automation Park for their round 3 NPL fixture on a super day for football.

As always, the U19s got the day underway and recorded a great 1-0 win via a goal from Tristan Muir.

The U22s lead through a Jacob Golding goal and should have had a 3 or 4 goal advantage in an early dominant performance. Lapses in defence unfortunately led to a turnaround in fortunes and a 1-5 defeat.

First grade still looking for their 1st win were dealt no easy task against a strong Broadmeadow outfit. It what turned out to be a very entertaining game it was Weston who could be considered unfortunate to not have secured the 3 points. Great opportunities for Mick Ryan, Rob Macbeth and Mitchell Wallace, some super link up play throughout the game and a penalty save from Benn Kelly from a dubious decision, were features of a very good performance from the Bears.
