Weston travelled to Darling St Oval and faced Hamilton Olympic in the second round of the NBN State League.
In warm conditions the U/17s were first of the rank with a 2-2 draw and their first points of the season via 2 goals to J Golding.
The Bears U19s also got their account underway in fine style with a 3-1 win. Goals coming from P Wand (2) and H Spinaze.
The senior squads were next with U23s going down 2-0 after it was nil all at half time.
First Grade secured their first win of the 2013 season. After going to the sheds it was Nathan Morrris (left) who secured the points in the 78th minute.
Well done to all grades in uncomfortable conditions at an always difficult venue and....

Westons U14s & U16s both saw action today.
The U14s took on Rutherfod and ran out 3 nil winners with goals to Z Skippen, CGalbraith & J Brownlow.
Our U16s took on Broadmeadow Magic and had a stong 5-2 victory. Goalscorers were Matt Rees, tom Newman, Jamie Ellis with Jayden Hinds grabbing a brace.

The Bears launched their season last Friday in front of over 250 people at the Weston Workers Club.
Newcastle Jets CEO, Robbie Middleby, was a special guest on a night MC'd by Barry Toohey with all teams presented with their playing shirts.
A highlight of the night was the announcement of two new Honorary Members.
Life member June Horder presented Leanne Johnson her Honorary Membership. Fellow Life Member Shane Johnson then presented Bruce Whyburn with his.
Between both Leanne and Bruce there is over 40 years of service to the Bears and their recognition is very well deserved.
