In very difficult conditions the Bears were one of only three games to go ahead this round - Hats off to the guys who work so hard to make sure that when the weather turns nasty we still kick off.
The U17s got the day off to a flyer and continued their good run with a 3-1 win.
Our U19s then carried on that good start and went one better winning 4-0.
In a high scoring affair the young under 23s went down 3-5.
First grade looking to stay in the top 3 saw 2 teams having to contend with poor weather and a now chopped up surface.
It was the Bears who struck first in the 30th minute after a lovely through ball from Jamie Subat found Mick Ryan on a perfectly timed run who dispatched the ball calmly into the onion bag.
After the break it was Mick Ryans turn to prove provider in the 57th minute with a defence spliting pass that found Garry McDermott (left) in perfect position to slot home.
Valentine did hit back in the 68th but it was quickly cancelled out again by Garry McDermott who bagged his brace and took the game beyond Valentine.
