Two Bears teams were in semi final action this weekend:

SATURDAY

The U16s took on Swansea at Norm Chapman Oval, Rutherford and unfortunately went down down 4-3 in a tight game. It was bitter sweet for Tom Sparre who bagged a hatrick in the game. The young Bears can hold their heads high having won their premiership and going so close to a grand final berth.

SUNDAY

The U19s took on Hamilton in their elimination final and progressed to the grand final.
It was hard work for the Bears youth who were down 2-0 at half time. However, the quality and never say die 'Weston' attitude of these lads shone through to tie it up at 2-2 at full time with goals from Luke Campbell and Sam Turnbull. It was then straight to penalties with Weston prevailing to win 9-8.

The U19s Grand Final opponents are the NSWIS Men and will be held at:

11:00am
Wanderers Oval
Broadmeadow

All the very best to everyone involved over this weekend. Everyone at the Club is very proud and we encourage all to get out and support your Clubmates next week and.......

C'MON YOU BEARS!!!

With the Bears senior squads season over it was time to pop in and spend an afternoon at Club sponsor, The Rutherford Hotel.

The Rutherford Hotel came on board this year and we hope they have enjoyed their involvement as much as our Club has enjoyed the Club dinners and catch ups at the Hotel.

Today, Club First Grade Coach, Darren Elkin, and Club Captain, Chris Cousins, presented John Ferguson of the Rutherford Hotel with a memento of this year.

John, on behalf of everyone at the Weston Workers Bears Football Club - thank you!

3 Bears teams were in semi finals today with two still in the hunt for silverware -  the results are as follows:

U16s took on Hamilton and went down 2-0. They get to live another day and play in an elimination final next week.

U17s went down 5-1 which sees their season end. This team certainly came good with some great performances to make the finals series - well done everyone.

U19s won 2-0 against Broadmeadow. They now play the winner of the NSWIS / Hamilton game next week.

With 2 teams still alive the Club urges their clubmates to get behind them and cheer them on.

C'MON YOU BEARS!!!
