A shout out to Jacob Robinson - Jacob scored a hat trick for the Bears yesterday against Olympic but that joy was short lived when he received a nasty injury to his foot.

Jacob - Best wishes from everyone here at the Bears. We hope to see you recovered and back on the paddock as soon as possible mate.

As usual it was a big weekend for everyone involved at the Bears with all junior and senior teams in action culminating in the Clubs end of season BBQ.

Our U14s shared the points in a 0-0 draw with Lakes.

The U15s got a result winning 3-0 against NNSWIS girls. Scorers were C Robinson, B Millar & A Mathias.

The U16s also took on Lakes and won 3-1. Goals were scored by J Hough, J Smallhorne, and C Heydon.

Weston's U17s are coming home with a wet sail and had an excellent result against Hamilton winning 6-1. Goals were scored by P Wand, L Nichol, J Stoneman and a super hat trick to J Robinson.

The U 19s saw out their last home game with a loss going down 2-3 to Hamilton. L Campbell and S Turnbull the scorers.

U23s had a difficult day at the office and went down 0-4.

First grade took the field with their season hanging by a thread and nothing less than a win to play for. It certainly looked to be the Bears day as they settled early and started to cause the Olympic defence some problems. Former Bears keeper, Brad Swancott, was the saviour for Hamilton in the first half with 2 superb saves deny a Jason Cowburn, outside of the area, volley and another stinging shot by Jamie Subat. Both sides went to the sheds at 0-0 but the Bears certainly had the momentum.
Second half however was a different story and within 10 mins of the restart Olympic had the opener and their second followed shortly after. The Bears did lift and some nice play down the left opened up Hamilton's defence and Mick Ryan found the net. Unfortunately 1-2  was the way it ended in a very physical contest that saw Hamilton claim their first Premiership.

This game was also Mick Holts final home game for the Club before he heads off to Western Australia. From everyone here at Weston and, we are sure, all other players in the State League, we wish you the very best now and in the future.

The Bears would like to congratulate Hamilton Olympic in taking out the 2012 State League Premiership.

The Club would also like to acknowledge and thank those who attended the end of season BBQ after the the game. It was a great turn out by all and reflective of the fantastic people involved across the age groups and grades. Well done and thanks!

And........

C'mon you Bears!!!
