The Bears junior teams were in action on Saturday. While some of the scorelines may not show it, there were plenty of positives from the young Bears - Keep up the good work!
The U17s Colts had a great win against Valentine - well done guys.
U13 New Lambton 2 - 1 Weston
The kids started off well knocking the ball around and looking for each other but lost their way and intensity and this allowed New Lambton to get on top of us and put one into the back of the net, not long after a second one in. The kids lifted in the second half and were able to score in the last five minutes. Kids we need to keep the intensity up for the whole game and the rewards will come.
Scorer: Thomas Oliver
U14 South Cardiff 4 - 2 Weston
U15 Broadmeadow 3 - 1 Weston
U17 Colts Valentine 2 - 4 Weston
Round 3 of the SOLO Cup saw these 2 grand old Clubs of Australian football come together at Toronto.
It was a reworked Bears line up that controlled the game and regularly threatened the Rosebud goal running out eventual winners 4-0. Rosebud's did have some nice passages of play and at one point hit the Bears post. However, strong work from back to front throught the game saw Weston move into the next round of the Cup.
Scorers: Jamie Subat (2), David Field, Corey Fletcher
The young Bears kicked off their season today with some tremendous results.
U13's Weston Bears 0 - 1 Charlestown
Coach Darren was impressed with the huge improvement from last time we played Charlestown in the trial match. The kids played with more aggression, effort and purpose in the second half and knocked the ball around well and this enabled them to keep the score nil all in the second half. Well done and keep up the intensity and the rewards will come!
U14's Weston Bears 6 - 1 Valentine Eleebana
U15's Weston Bears 6 - 0 Swansea
