The Bears had another good pre-season hit out in a Wednesday night bounce game against Maitland with Weston winning 4-2.
The Bears pre-season continued with a trial against Hamilton Olympic at Darling Street on Sunday. Leading 1-0 at half time and 2-0 through the second half, a back injury to the Bears keeper, Sam Parkinson, and tired legs finally caught the boys and saw Hamilton secure a 3-2 win. All up a very encouraging performance and a good pre-season hit out with young keeper James Wand performing well having had a busy day playing the 2 previous games then replacing the injured Parko.
Other results saw the U/23 go down 4-0, the U/18s lose 3-2 and the U/17s draw 1-1.
