Weston's senior squads played their final NPL competition rounds at Lambton.
The U19s got the day underway and as they have done most of the year delivered a winning start to the day getting up 1-0 and can now look forward to finals football. Well done lads.
Our U22s were still in the hunt for finals football and needed to win the points or alternatively other results to go their way. It was the latter and the Bears are in finals football. They will certainly be the wildcard having served notice through the year just how good they can be.
First grade have had a year to forget but there have been many positives with the emergence of young players who will no doubt make their mark in years to come.
Down a goal early doors it was always going to be a difficult task against this Lambton side who again found the net halfway through the half. Similar to the first half the Jaffas found the net early after the break and the game was moving out of reach. A fourth was added by Lambton 10 minutes later with Weston getting a consolation late on. A tough game in what's been a tough year. Our thanks to the playing and coaching staff who continued to give their all for the Club and displayed a magnificent attitude.
Lets now get behind the U19s & U22s in their semis next week and remember...
C'mon you Bears!!!
The young Bears travelled to Lambton to play their penultimate round against the Jaffas.
Beautiful weather for the beautiful game saw another round of super performances from our youth teams.
Of particular note is the U13s winning their premiership with a round remaining. Well done lads and congratulations. You continued to achieve the high standards you set yourselves. Apart from the excellent win record of 14 in a row it is the style it has been achieved that is so impressive.
Well done everyone and...
C'mon you Bears!!!
U13 | Jaffas 1:2 Weston
U14 | Jaffas 2:2 Weston
