Weston Bears under-19 and under-15 teams kick off Northern NSW Premier League finals campaigns

Although their first grade counterparts fell agonisingly short of making the Northern NSW Premier League finals, the Weston Bears' under-19s and under-15s sides are alive and kicking.

The under-19s are facing Edgeworth on Saturday in the opener of a two-leg semi-final and the under-15 Bears are in the grand final on Sunday against Charlestown.

Congratulations to Maitland Grossman High School who, last night in Sydney, defeated Crestwood High 1-0 to win the CHS grand Final.

Played in front of a big crowd, including a huge travelling support, and against a very confident Crestwood team, the boys from the Hunter really showed their worth. It was a wonderful team performance and the school now sits at number 1 out of 357 high schools in NSW.

To the 4 Weston players; James Tassell, Blake Roy, Brock Lewsam & James Harkin - you are outstanding representatives for your school, football in the Hunter and the Weston Bears Football Club. You guys were superb and should be very proud of your achievement, as we are of you.

To cap off the win, Blake Roy was named player of the tournament. Well done mate.

Again, well done and thank you for a putting a on a fantastic performance.

Recover well lads - semis this weekend!

C'mon you Bears!!!
