You can't say this team does not entertain!
A blistering start to the season. A few blips towards the end. A final day that required them to deliver.
Deliver they did - winning 3-0 and in turn taking out the U19 NPL Premiership.
Well done to everyone involved in the U19s. Some fantastic results along the way with some big lessons learnt too.
Now to your finals campaign and an opportunity to put all the talent, experience and lessons into practice.
Enjoy boys.
For First grade & the U22s it was the end of their seasons.
The U22s went down narrowly 1-0.
First grade needed to get a win and have another result go their way to make the top 4. Early exchanges were traded but it was Edgeworth from a corner who took the lead.
Weston continued to toil and it was rewarded with a Carl Thornton goal. Picking the ball up inside the Eagles half Carl went on a stroll towards the corner of the 18 yard box and rifled a textbook shot across goal into the far corner. It was basically the last kick before oranges and both teams went in at 1-1.
The second half saw Edgy begin to show why they have been lauded all season. They hit the front with 20 minutes to go and secured the win not far from full time and in turn claiming the Premiership.
Congratulations to Edgeworth on taking out the 1st grade Premiership. Hard luck for our guys in what has been one of the toughest competitions for quite a while - we'll be back!
