The Bears were at home for the first time this season and hosted Lake Macquarie. Lake's last visit to Thomas & Coffey Park was a high scoring affair and this was no different.
In a tight tussle from the start it was Lakes who pressured early only to see Weston play their way back into the game. It was Jamie Subat who rounded the keeper to cap off some nice lead up play and give the Bears the lead. However Macquarie transition very well and were soon back on level terms. Further pressure from Lakes saw the Bears turn over possession and take a 2-1 lead to the sheds.
The tussle continued in the second half and patient play from Weston saw Jason Cowburn climb and bury an Andrew Parkinson cross. The Bears defence was constantly on alert from the quick transition play and it was Lakes who again took the lead from a w
ell placed, far post, header.
As the game headed to full time a free kick to Weston saw Nathan Morris step up and deliver a shot that cleared the wall but was well covered by the keeper, who then unfortunately saw the ball wriggle from his arms and into the net which tied it up 3-3.
The U23s returned to form winning 3-1 to get their season back on track.
The Bears youth grade drew 1-1 after coming back from being 1 down and with 10 players.
The U17s returned with a bang winning 8 nil and taking on board the lessons from last week.
