SENIORS

After a long wait the Bears finally got to kick off their 2015 NPL season. Resuming a great rivalry with Rosebud at Adamstown Oval made this opening game even more appealing.

The U19s provided the perfect start to the day winning their game 5-2. Goal scorers for the young Bears were Isaac Peek, Brock Lewsam, Tom Sparre and Jacob Golding with a brace.

Up next and keen to follow the 19s lead were the 22s. Follow they did securing a 2-1 win and this time it was Jake Barner claiming a brace.

First grade were taking on the heavy recruiting Rosebud. Weston were looking for a good start to the campaign and they got it from a fine performance that bodes well for the season.
With plenty of chances from each side the game see sawed until the final whistle and a 0-0 draw.

There are many positives to take from this game including the creativity, fine form of Tim Pratt and a first grade debut for Jacob Golding. Congratulations Jacob from all of us at the Club. It's great to have the young guns knock on the door and be given an opportunity.

Next week Weston welcome the Lambton Jaffas to Rockwell Automation Park. The Jaffas have also recruited heavily including former EPL player and Jets Striker Michael Bridges.

See you there and....

C'mon you Bears!!!
