Weston welcomed Charlestown Blues to Rockwell Automation Park for their Round 16 clash.
The 19s got the day of to a great start and showed great character for a young team by coming back from being 1 nil down at half time to win 2-1.
The U22s had last weeks result reversed and went down 0-2.
First grade were provided a huge opportunity from the previous days results to move into outright second spot and they grabbed it with both hands.
Two up in the first 15mins thanks to Garry McDermott & Connor Evans was a super start - but so were the goals. The first was a fantastic example of passing, movement and finishing. The second was composure and technique and 2-0 was how it went to oranges.
Weston extended their lead in the 53rd minute when Connor Evans turned provider and played a defence splitting pass for the on rushing Rob Macbeth (left) who, spotting the NBN cameras, bulged the net and ran to the crowd.
Charlestown did net but this was cancelled out by Robbie Turnbull who cut inside his defenders and thundered a left foot shot into the goal and Weston into second place.
Another strong result from Weston who have a number of players also returning for the season run in. For the match highlights of todays goals... ROLL THE TAPE.
C'mon you Bears.
The Bear's NPL Youth teams were home today and took on FMNC.
13s- 2-1 (win) Ben Fuller a brace (that's 2 goals for you young uns)
14s- 2-3 (loss) Lachlan Yates, Aydon Von Essen
15s- 0-2 (loss)
17s- 3-1 (win) Dylan Bentley a hat trick
Some mixed results on the scoreboard but it is the way we are looking to play the game that matters - stay the course boys!
Also, a huge tip of the hat to the ground keepers - having confidence in a great surface that holds up to wet weather and looks this good so far into the season is a super achievement - thank you.

Weston travelled to Adamstown Oval for their Round 15 clash with Rosebud.
The 19s kicked the day off in a great way winning 2-1 and continuing their fine football.
The U22s also had a good win scoring 3 goals for the second week in a row but only conceding 2.
First grade really needed a result here to confirm their championship aspirations. What followed would have really pleased Head Coach Steve Piggott and all Bears supporters. In a dominant display Weston were up 4 zip at half time with goals to Garry McDermott (right), Connor Evans (left), Mick Ryan and an own goal.
The Second half while not showing on the scoreboard aslso was very pleasing and although the Buds did hit the net once, Weston were well and truly worth the win.
A win in all three grades away from home is a fantastic achievement and all teams should have their tails in the air as we head into the home straight.
