The NPL second round saw the Bears travel to Broadmeadow and take on Magic.
In what is always a tough venue to get results, the heavy pitch ws always going to make things tougher.
The U19s kicked the day off and went to the sheds locked at 0-0. The second half could be seen as a game that escaped from victory with the young Bears missing a penalty and having to play the last 15 minutes with 10 men. It is a game some valuable lessons will be learnt from and this young group of players will benefit from.
The U22s remain undefeated and came back from a goal down to ensure a hard fought 1-1 draw.
First grade were looking to continue on where they left off last week - winning. In a great performance against the reigning premiers, Weston really took the game to Broadmeadow and created a number of super chances that could have put the game out of reach. However, it was just one of those days and despite the chances nothing would would dip, glance or ricochet in the Bears favour and saw them have to settle for a share of the points at full time. This was a very pleasing performance by Weston and continues their bright start to the year.
