Over 260 people packed the Weston Workers Club on Saturday night to help celebrate season 2013.
The night was a great mix of presentations and congratulations for a season that saw two premierships, a grand final win, semi final appearances and all teams improving as the season progressed.
A highlight of the night was a special presentation to retiring Club captain Chris Cousins. Chris's address to the audience, especially the young players in attendance, underlined his super attitude and career.
The Club wishes Chris all the very best and is incredibly thankful for your service over the years.
We also said farewell to Club Head Coach Darren Elkin. Darren has spent 4 years at Weston and has been part of semi final and premierships teams for all but one season. Thank you Darren for your efforts and especially for being a great bloke. We wish you well and look forward to catching up soon.
Congratulations to all the award winners on your seasons and bring on 2014!

This time of year sees us reflect on a wonderful gesture made by a number of Weston players and partners who, on a trip to Bali, took the time out to spend time with those who deserve our support.....
Around this time last year some of the Bears went to Bali.
Bali is still considered to be a 3rd World Country and poverty is a huge problem. There are privately and Government run 'Orphanages' on the island and we paid a visit to one of these.
We chose an orphanage called 'The Jodie O'Shea Orphanage' which is privately run and relies on donations. It has about 56 Children from about 2years to young adults, and is ran by an amazing woman 'Alison' in Dedication to 'Jodie' - Jodie was an Australian girl tragically killed in the first lot of bombings in 2002. One of 3 in a room at the hospital, Jodie would not accept pethodine saying 'Give it to someone else who needs it more'. Jodie passed away soon after, thus the orphanage is her legacy and dedicated to her memory 'a brave and compassionate young girl'
Like all over the world children at the orphanage LOVE soccer and love playing with visitors - which is what we went to do. As you will see from the photos in the gallery the Weston Soccer Club community contributed hugely by donating:
- Balls
- Shirts
- Shorts
- Donations
