Saturday at Thomas & Coffey Park also saw Weston's 4 junior sides play, with mixed results, against Broadmeadow Magic.
The U/17s had a 1-1 draw with Bowen Bagnell giving the Bears the lead. It could have been doubled if not for a goaline clearance before half time.
Weston's U/15s, who are struggling with injuries, went down 2-0 and will definately improve as players comeback.
The Bears U/14s also went down 2-0 and pushed last years premiers hard.
The U/13s can certainly score a goal or 2 but can also cough one up after a 5 - 4 win over Magic.
Matt Rees snared a brace while Dale Lantry, Matt Pender and Isaac Allen also found the back of the net in what was a very entertaining game.
The juniors are at Thomas & Coffey Park again on Saturday with the 17s & 14s against Valentine Phoenix. The 15s play Lambton and the 13s take on Hamilton.
C'MON YOU BEARS!!!
The Bears welcomed Edgeworth for their top of the table clash in round 5 at Thomas and Coffey Park. The match was even more significant for the Bears due to the fact that the Club Captain Chris Cousins was playing his 100th First Grade game for the Bears.
The Bears and Edgeworth have been long time rivals but in recent times Edgeworth have had the wood over the Bears. Edgeworth along with Hamilton Olympic have been tipped by many as the only 2 sides capable of winning the competition, so after the Bears steam rolled the Hamilton Olympic side 3-0 last week confidence was high that they could turn the tables on the recent results against the strong Edgeworth side.
