The Weston U14s have made a fantastic start to the season and as a result have generated some well deserved attention.

This great start has also seen Blake Hamer identified by NNSW Football Technical Staff whilst playing in the
Newcastle District Under 14 competition and invited into two training sessions with other players as part of their selection process for the NNSW U14 team to compete at the National Titles. Blake will now trial with other identified players, including the emerging jets.

Blake, from all of us here at the Bears - well done and all the very best.

C'mon you Bear!!!

The young Bears were in action on a chilly Saturday around the grounds.

Our U14s have had a great start to the season and continued their run with a 3-0 win against Rutherford. Finding the net for Weston were Brayden Mortimer, Alex Woods & Kurt Nightingale.

The U16s took on Magic and ran out 3-1 winners. Jamie Ellis, Blake Rutherford and Jack Newman netting for the Bears.

The U15s are showing great progress and went down narrowly 1-0 to second placed lake Macquarie - stick at it fellas!

It's great to see everyone wearing the black and white with great pride and representing the Club so well - win, lose or draw.

...and remember...

C'mon you Bears!!!

The Bears welcomed the Newcastle Jets youth to Rockwell Automation Park in round 11 of the NBN State League.

The U17s kicked of the day in style with a 3-1 victory. Netting for the Bears were L Doyle and J Golding with a brace.

Weston's U19s were up next and were on the wrong end of a 3-1 result.

The young 23s have had a tough time of late but showed great commitment to snare a 1-1 draw with J Montgomery filling the onion bag.

First grade were looking for their first win over the young Jets and certainly had their chances in the first half. However, the game was turned on its head 3 minutes before the break when Mick Ryan was fouled. Rising to his feet he underarmed the ball to a Jets player that kissed his chest and chin. This saw the red card produced, Mick in an early shower and an even contest turned on it's head and in favour of the Jets.

After the break it didn't take long for the Jets to find the break through. Then in the 65th minute the Bears conceded a penalty to see the deficet doubled. Inevitbly the third was to follow in the 80th and even though Nathan Morris pulled one back for Weston the contest was over and the game finished 1-3 to the Jets.

Other weekend results included:

The youngest Bears - U14s - continued their great start to the seson with a 2-0 victory over Hamilton. Bulging the net for the Bears was A Woods and B Mortimer.

Our U15s were in action on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday saw a great 4-2 win over South Cardiff. Scorers were B Lewsam, J Horder and J Barner with a brace. Sunday's game was a catch up against Charlsetown and it was more good news with 1-0 victory and a goal to J Horder.

The U16s took on Cooks Hill and again the Bears enjoyed a sing song after the game with a 1-0 victory. Goalscorer for Weston was J Bowen.

Some great results for a number of our teams this weekend - and a well done to everyone in the black and white for your efforts and ....

C'mon you Bears!!!
