Carl Thornton became the 4th Bear to be rewarded for their form this season with his inclusion in the NBN Select side to take on the Jets.
He joins team mates Mick Holt, Mick Ryan and Tim Pratt in the the senior squad and Ethan Carusi who was selected in the the youth squad.

The Weston Workers Bears would like to congratulate Mick Holt, Mick Ryan and Tim Pratt on their selection in the Northern NSW, NBN Select Team, to meet the Jets in July. It has been a great season so far for the Bears and we are sure that there are a couple more Weston players unlucky not to have been selected - such is the competitiveness of this years competition.

Valentine Phoenix were next in line to take on the NBN State League leading Bears in round 13 at Thomas and Coffey Park.
A win for the Bears would extend their winning run to 5 games but they almost fell behind after only 6 minutes. The Phoenix attacker broke free and fired off a shot at Bears keeper Tim Pratt but fortunately the early shot lacked direction and was wide of the Bears goal.
