More results form the weekend from the young Bears.
The U15s took on Valentine and had a share of the points in a 1-1 draw. Bulging the net Weston was Bailey Goldspring.
Our U16s faced off against Lakes going down 2-1. Netting for the Bears s was jayden Hinds.
Well done lads on the way you are preparing and approaching these games and...
C'mon you Bears!!!
The Bears travelled to Lakes for their round 18 fixtures.
Starting the day saw the U17s superb run hit a blip in a 2-0 loss. Keep the heads up boys, it's business as usual.
The U19s have found some mojo lately and this showed in a fine 2-1 win.
Weston's young 23s lifted again to register a strong 3-0 victory - well done fellas.
(take a deep breath)..... 1st grade well in the hunt for semi final football knowing full well the wrong result could mean curtains for the year. What unfolded was quite simply one of the best examples of character this Club has seen.
On a difficult surface the Bears went behind in the 22nd minute. However, it wasn't long before Jason Cowburn levelled for Weston but, not more than a minute later, Lakes scored again to take a 2-1 lead to the sheds.
Less than a minute out of the sheds and the Bears found themselves down 3-1. Battling on the Bears were dealt a huge blow in the 60th minute with Jason Cowburn sent off and Weston were in a pretty deep hole. But as they say 'when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging' - game on!
Garry McDermott pulled one back in the 67th minute. Rob Macbeth added to the scoresheet and levelled in the 84th ensuring it was squeaky bum time for everyone at the ground.
Proving again 'it aint over till it's over' Nathan Morris grabbed the winner in the 90th and all 3 points for Force 10 from Weston.
Congratulations to the Bears U14s on clinching their premiership.
The league was won after a very convincing win against South Cardiff and on home turf.
Congratulations to everyone involved and inparticular the boys for a super achievement.
